Our doors are always open
During the CoVid-19 lockdown period, the Delhi Government decided to keep 25-30% of its fleet running to enable people in essential services commute to their work places. Ashok Leyland has a 15 Year AMC with DTC and owing to this the Service and Parts Team at DTC Depots continued to provide uninterrupted services to maintain these buses.
However, their Spare Parts stock ran through and they found themselves in a critical situation to service vehicles without Spare Parts that were needed urgently, and they were under pressure from the Delhi Government.
The DTC Team requested our Spare Parts Division (SPD) to support them with the Spare Parts and help them continue uninterrupted services. The Alwar SPD Team decided to arrange the parts immediately after the state government relaxed lockdown norms and approached Plant Head for support. All the preparations were done in line with Government norms of sanitization, social distancing & SOPs were implemented in a couple of days with the support of the Plant Team. Plant Head fully supported the cause and sought an approval from the ERT to work with only 5 workmen for 1 day.
The SPD Team compiled the total requirements in consultation with the DTC. All the material that was required was picked/packed and dispatched on 25 April, working on a single day with only 5 workmen. The material worth INR 50 lakhs was delivered to the DTC Depots the next morning.
This brought much needed support to the DTC Team who thanked the Alwar Team for their timely support and going out of their way to arrange for the parts. This ensured that the operations for the Delhi Government ran smoothly and the essential services staff were able to reach their destinations every day.
Kudos to the Alwar team for turning around this request in a short span of time and helping the DTC in these times of need. It’s always Aapki Jeet. Hamari Jeet at Ashok Leyland.
