The nationwide lockdown has thrown normal life out of gear. At these
times when only transport of essentials is permitted, there have been
stranded truckers- without food and sometimes a breakdown. Breakdowns
are always a night mare - away from home, short of cash, safety of
goods and drivers, language barriers, getting a good mechanic, these
are some of the challenges faced by drivers and customers during a breakdown,
This is where the ServiceMandi team stepped in and helped out. Apart
from helping drivers since the lockdown, ServiceMandi has also
attended to more than 130 breakdowns of multi-brand vehicles including
LCV’s, M&HCV’s and Combined Harvester machines across the country.
Despite restrictions, they were able to get permission from the
concerned authorities to attend to the vehicles at the earliest.
Their efforts were not without any challenges. The two main

Mechanics were stopped in many places by the police. However, the
mechanics showed the request received in the ServiceMandi app which
carries vehicle details and contact number of the driver. The Police
could cross check the authenticity by talking to driver/owner and the
need to travel to attend to the vehicles carrying essential goods. The
team also helped in organizing letters from police department for
mechanics to travel to breakdown locations.
ServiceMandi has parts retailers listed on the app with mobile numbers
of its owners for all types of vehicles. Through this feature,
mechanics could talk to parts retail shop owners nearby and requested
them to open the shop explaining the emergency and got the required
parts for the vehicle.
This futuristic ServiceMandi app
helped in many ways; be it be locating the vehicle, locating the
mechanics or the spares. Customers have been happy with the support
provided in these challenging times.
