Ashok Leyland’s iEGR technology for BS-IV Trucks attract INR xxx Cr Order from Rivigo The logistics start-up company, Rivigo to buy 500 fully-built Ashok Leyland iEGR trucks to expand its fleet size by 25%

Ashok Leyland, flagship of the Hinduja Group, today received an order for over Rs. xxx crores from Rivigo, an innovative logistics start-up which is also among the top five players in the surface transport industry in India. This order of 500 fully-built vehicles is driven by the success of the innovative iEGR (Intelligent Exhaust Gas Recirculation) technology which has been developed indigenously by Ashok Leyland. Developed to achieve the BS-IV emission norms, iEGR technology was launched in April 2017 for engines up to 400HP – a feat no other OEM has achieved globally.

Sharing his views on the order, Mr. Vinod K. Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland Limited, said, “This order from Rivigo further strengthens the strong relationship that both companies cherish and value. This bulk order from Rivigo is a result of the resounding success of the performance of our iEGR BS IV technology. Rivigo has seen the technology working for them and that has led to this bulk order. This order gives us added confidence to continue to innovate and deliver on our brand promise of ‘Aapki Jeet, Hamari Jeet’.”

Sharing his views on the order, Mr. Anuj Kathuria, President - Global Trucks, Ashok Leyland, said, “Ashok Leyland has been an integral part of Rivigo’s story since the beginning of their journey. They trust us as their partners and we are glad that we have been able to deliver. This fresh order is a testimonial to the Indian, intelligent and innovative offerings of iEGR BS-IV technology, which translates to, ‘No Adblue’, ‘No Electronics’ and ‘Better Mileage’. Today, our BS-IV iEGR vehicles are giving up to 10% better fuel economy when compared to the BS-III range. This is helping all our customers to improve their total cost of operations by up to 15%, translating to improved profits.”

Commenting on the order, Mr. Deepak Garg, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Rivigo, said, “Our journey with Ashok Leyland began in 2014 and today, with this fresh order, we will expand our fleet size to over 2700 vehicles. Just like our idea of disruption in logistics, we see iEGR as a technology disruption which has a huge upside. For us it has meant better uptime, hassle-free operations, better mileage and improved cost of ownership. This has led us to make this repeat order.

When we had started this company, our aim was not only to improve the industry but also have a positive impact in lives of everyone involved in this industry. In Ashok Leyland we see a similar drive for innovation with their India specific intelligent technology and their ‘customers first’ approach which brings more value to the end users. This is the reason why almost 100% of our fleet consists of Ashok Leyland vehicles.”

The order comprises of Ashok Leyland's xx-xx tonne segment trucks which will be delivered within this fiscal.

Highlighting the robustness and reliability of Ashok Leyland vehicles, the company has doubled its warranty and is offering 4 years/4 lac Km warranty as standard on its BSIV products. Further enhancing customers’ confidence, it has also improved its ‘Tatkal’ promise of reaching customers, in case of any breakdown, within 4 hours and getting their vehicle back on-road within 48 hours.
